workshop, which is divided into two parts, introduces archaeological
critical thinking strategies and provides “hands-on” exploration of
12 Critical Challenges for Grades 4, 5 and 7 Social Studies. Part
One introduces “Teaching Archaeological Thinking”, a custom Social
Studies Legacy Resource developed by the Learning Network through
the Alberta Social Studies Implementation Program, which all
participants will receive a complimentary copy of. In Part Two,
participants will be guided through exploring the rich historical
significance of one of Canada’s largest Aboriginal archaeological
historic sites situated near Bodo, Alberta. Information on public
archaeology opportunities and school-based access (live and virtual)
at the Bodo site will also be described. Pre-registration
